Job summary

Saputo is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead production employees and oversee daily operations in a Canadian dairy environment. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will ensure quality, safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in processing and packaging.

The role requires post-secondary education in dairy-related fields, at least 3 years in dairy or food manufacturing, and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Shift rotations include day and afternoon.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Food Sciences, Dairy Technology, Microbiology or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in Dairy or food manufacturing.
• Thorough knowledge of dairy operations with emphasis on processing and sanitation.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Self-motivated, results oriented, with initiative and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong team orientation and proven leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Available for a monthly rotating shift (day and afternoon).

Responsibilities

• Ensures safe, efficient use of workforce, equipment and materials.
• Provides leadership, supervision, training, and evaluation of production staff.
• Schedules equipment and personnel to meet production targets.
• Uses operational data daily to monitor trends.
• Maintains quality, sanitation and environmental standards with QA and Technical Services.
• Coordinates with Maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Manages inventories and daily sales projections.
• Oversees recruitment, performance and attendance.
• Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as required.
