Job summary

Altea West Edmonton is seeking a magnetic Pace Studio coach to deliver structured, immersive cycle classes in a purpose-built room. Cycle at Altea is beat-based, music-driven and coach-led, with choreography, endurance climbs, and all-out sprints synced to the playlist to create a complete experience.

You are a real coach with cadence and resistance cues, and you bring a current cycling certification plus demonstrated experience teaching group cycle classes in premium studios.

Qualifications

• Current cycling certification required.
• Demonstrated experience teaching group cycle classes in a premium or studio environment.
• Strong playlist building, energy management, and cueing ability in an immersive group setting.
• Beat-based and performance format experience are assets.
• Reliable, punctual, and holds a consistently high standard of preparation and professionalism.
• Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, immersive cycle classes with a clear energy arc, intentional intervals, and coaching that keeps riders engaged from warm-up to the final track.
• Build the ride around the music. Choreography, endurance climbs, and all-out sprints are synced to the playlist.
• Coach effort, not just movement. Translate RPE, cadence, and resistance into language for riders.
• Build the room. Read energy and make every rider feel the class was built for them.
• Show up prepared. Playlist built, ride planned, and on the bike before the first rider clips in.

Altea is not another big box gym. It is not a boutique studio. It is an integrated fitness and wellness destination, and the Pace Studio is one of the most consistently packed rooms in the building.

Cycle at Altea is beat-based, music-driven, and coach-led. Choreography, endurance climbs, and all-out sprints are synced to the track in a purpose-built room with immersive sound and lighting. The format lives or dies with the instructor. We are looking for the one who makes it live.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Deliver structured, immersive cycle classes with a clear energy arc, intentional intervals, and coaching that keeps riders engaged from warm-up to the final track.


• Build the ride around the music. Choreography, endurance climbs, and all-out sprints are synced to the playlist. Your music selection and ride design work together to create a complete experience, not just a workout.


• Coach effort, not just movement. You translate RPE, cadence, and resistance into language every rider can use in real time. You help people understand what they are training for, not just what they are doing.


• Build the room. The energy in the Pace Studio is contagious when the instructor makes it that way. You know how to build momentum, read the energy, and make every rider feel like they were in the right place.


• Show up prepared. Your playlist is built, your ride is planned, and you are on the bike before the first rider clips in. The pre and post class sequence is delivered to standard every time.

WHO YOU ARE

Magnetic on the bike. Credible in the coaching. The person who walks into a full Pace Studio and makes every rider feel like the class was built specifically for them.

• You are a real coach. You cue cadence and resistance with specificity. You know the difference between pushing someone and coaching them, and you do the latter.


• You are coachable. Feedback is how the program stays excellent. You receive it without ego and apply it.


• You are consistent. Your standard does not change based on how full the room is or what time it is.


• You are professional. You represent Altea in the studio and throughout the club with pride and polish.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Current cycling certification required


• Demonstrated experience teaching group cycle classes in a premium or studio environment


• Strong playlist building, energy management, and cueing ability in an immersive group setting


• Beat-based and performance format experience are both assets


• Reliable, punctual, and holds a consistently high standard of preparation and professionalism


• Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement
