Job summary

Alstom in Toronto, ON seeks a Cybersecurity Platform Engineer to implement and maintain a robust security platform across IT and OT environments.

You'll deploy IT applications such as Active Directory, WSUS, antivirus tools, Syslog, Radius, and Zabbix while supporting testing and incident response activities. Strong Windows/Linux knowledge and 5–8 years of security experience are valuable assets.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in IT or CS is required.
  • 5 to 8 years of IT security experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of IT security products: Active Directory, WSUS, antivirus, Syslog, Radius, Zabbix.
  • Familiarity with security protocols (Radius, VPN, IPsec, SSH) and Windows/Linux.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and configure IT applications and security devices.
  • Provide incident response support and testing activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and tender teams for secure system design.
  • Interface with Alstom’s global cybersecurity team for evolutions and improvements.

Could you be the full-time Cybersecurity Platform Engineer in Toronto, ON, we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your strong cybersecurity and IT expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, innovative, and solution-driven teammates.

You’ll play a key role in implementing and maintaining our cybersecurity platform, ensuring it aligns with design directives and meets contractual project requirements. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, such as engineering, customer service, and tender teams, to perform a wide range of security engineering tasks, including deployment, configuration, and hardening of security devices and IT applications.

You’ll specifically take care of tasks like deploying IT applications such as Active Directory, WSUS, Antivirus solutions, Syslog, Radius, and Zabbix, but also supporting testing activities and providing technical support for issues and incident responses.

We’ll look to you for
  • Supporting the evaluation and selection of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products based on project needs
  • Demonstrating strong working knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Windows OS, virtualization in VMWare or Harvester
  • Good knowledge of Network devices configuration Switches, Firewalls and Routing
  • Executing security engineering tasks, including deploying and configuring IT applications
  • Providing technical support for customer queries and incident response
  • Collaborating with core engineering functions to ensure a unified and secure system design
  • Interfacing with Alstom’s global cybersecurity technical team to integrate new evolutions and improvements

  • An engineering degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline

Experience or understanding of IT and security, ideally with 5 to 8 years in the field

Knowledge of IT security products such as Active Directory, WSUS, Antivirus tools, Syslog, Radius, and Zabbix

Familiarity with security protocols (e.g., Radius, VPN, IPsec, SSH) and operating systems like Windows and Linux

A strong foundation in documentation, reporting, and presentation skills

Understanding of networking and network design (advantageous)

Experience with embedded or industrial systems (railway, aeronautics, etc.) is a plus

Salary Range: $80,000 to $105,000 CAD annual
