Job summary

MNP, a leading national accounting, tax and business advisory firm in Canada, invites experienced Cyber Security Operations Specialists to join its Technology - Cyber Security team in Calgary. You will investigate threats, develop policies, and enhance infrastructure to protect business operations and reputation.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in Cyber Security.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
  • Extensive experience in investigating security alerts, threat hunting, and post-breach forensics.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IT infrastructure and services, including cloud-based, with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in using enterprise-grade and open-source cyber security tools and technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead small process improvement projects and deliver results on time.
  • Completion of GIAC, ISC2 or EC-Council or other equivalent cyber security certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and investigate security alerts generated by various security tools and platforms.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, assess the impact, and implement countermeasures.
  • Proactively search for signs of malicious activity within the organization’s network and systems.
  • Conduct digital forensics to determine the scope, nature, and impact of security incidents.
  • Document findings and provide detailed reports for remediation.
  • Plan and maintain user security awareness training and testing.
  • Monitor assets vulnerability posture and collaborate with IT teams on remediating findings.
  • Develop and enhance incident response plans and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with other teams to prevent, contain, and eradicate security threats.
  • Maintain security policy enforcement and monitoring systems to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Respond to ServiceNow inquiries and requests from users and IT teams regarding policy conflicts and technical issues.
  • Stay updated on latest cyber security trends and technologies and recommend security controls alignment.

  • Respond to ServiceNow inquiries and requests from the users and various IT teams regarding policy conflicts and technical issues
  • Stay updated on the latest cyber security trends and technologies and recommend security controls alignment
Skills and Experience
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in Cyber Security
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving requirements
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Extensive experience in investigating security alerts, threat hunting, and conducting post-breach forensic investigations
  • Demonstrate application of knowledge in networking security and IT infrastructure administration to mitigate cyber risk
  • Proficiency in using various enterprise-grade and open-source cyber security tools and technologies
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IT infrastructure and services, including cloud-based, strong troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to lead small process improvement projects, initiatives and deliver results on time
  • Skills in automating security responses with SOAR, scripts, AI agents is considered an asset
  • Completion of GIAC, EC-Council, ISC2 or other equivalent cyber security certification is required
