Job summary

Maersk in Mississauga is seeking an experienced Customs Broker to manage import documentation and regulatory compliance. The role requires CCS certification, 3–5 years in Customs Brokerage, and familiarity with the Canada Customs tariff.

Proficiency with CW1 and Excel is expected, with a hybrid working model (2 days in-office, 3 days remote). You will liaise with importers and CBSA, correct entries, and ensure timely file closure in line with company policies.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in Customs Brokerage or equivalent experience.
• CCS certification is mandatory and current.
• Knowledge of the Canada Customs tariff is required.
• Experience with Cargowise CW1 is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong proficiency with Excel and standard Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review customs documentation for imports.
• Process CAD entries and ensure compliance with Canada Customs regulations.
• Correct Canada Customs rejected entries as needed.
• Liaise with importers and CBSA to arrange required documents for customs exams.
• Complete and close files in a timely and accurate manner according to policies.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review customs documentation for imports.
• Process CAD entries, ensuring compliance with company policies and Canada Customs regulations.
• Correct Canada Customs rejected entries.
• Liaise with importer and CBSA to arrange and facilitate required documentation during customs examinations.
• Complete and close files in a timely and accurate manner, in line with company and customs policies.

Requirements:

• Support the team by taking on additional duties as required.
• 3-5 years+ experience in Customs Brokerage
• Must have valid and current CCS
• Understands and can utilize the Customs tariff
• Experience with Cargowise (CW1) preferred but not mandatory
• Must know the basics of EXCEL, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Multitasking and organizational skills
• Team player and works well on their own
• Hybrid work model. 2 days in office, 3 days at home

Pay Range:

$50,000-$55,000 CAD *The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
