Job summary

Health Sciences North is seeking an Inventory and Restocking Clerk to manage end-user medical-surgical supply locations in accordance with established procedures. The role involves stocking, tracking, and distributing supplies across units to ensure availability for patient care.

Candidates should have Grade 12 or GED, safety training, and knowledge of hospital supplies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and good communication and organization are essential, along with the ability to lift 20–40

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or GED/ACE required.
• Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps certification required.
• Experience with hospital supplies or equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and restock end-user medical-surgical supply locations according to procedures.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure supplies are available for patient care.
• Operate equipment such as hand jack as needed.
• Communicate effectively with staff and clients and document tasks.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Supply and Distribution, the position is responsible for the inventorying and restocking of end-user medical-surgical supply locations in accordance with established program operating procedures.

Education and Training:

• Successful completion of grade twelve or equivalent (i.e. General Education Development (GED) or Academic and Career Entrance (ACE).
• Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

Experience:

• Working knowledge of hospital supplies and equipment

Knowledge/Skills Ability:

• Demonstrated ability to operate equipment, i.e. hand jack
• Demonstrated ability to compute simple calculations
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Suite software, i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
• Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and the ability to function in a multi-tasked environment
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job (constant walking, climbing, standing, pulling, pushing and lifting 20 – 40 kg)

Personal Suitability:

• Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record
