Job description

Overview

Position: Grain Procurement Specialist (temporary). This role is responsible for procuring grain products by developing and maintaining a customer base within an assigned geographical area to achieve business results aligned with established plans and goals.

Responsibilities
  • Negotiate grain contracts with a defined client base to meet and exceed area financial and operational targets.
  • Promote programs within the assigned market centre to achieve business objectives.
  • Coordinate contract logistics and related administrative requirements with internal teams to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Maintain and analyze customer data, transaction records, product inventories, and reports to prioritize customer engagement.
  • Analyze agricultural trends and evolving service needs to support business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers.
  • Monitor competitor activity and recommend adjustments to marketing programs and services.
  • Engage with producers within established timelines to identify opportunities and support customer needs.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Certificate or post‑secondary education in Agriculture, Agri‑Business, Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing.
  • Minimum of one year experience in agriculture or a sales‑focused customer service role (equivalent combinations of education and experience considered).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to make data‑driven decisions with a strong customer‑focused mindset.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, initiative, and commitment to continuous development.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage work effectively in changing or challenging environments.
