Job summary

A healthcare organization is looking for a Senior Medical Technologist in Thompson, Manitoba. This role involves conducting Diagnostic Imaging procedures and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Candidates should have a Medical Radiography certification and experience in a large CT/Radiography department. Effective communication and computer skills are essential. Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Must be registered in the CTIC program and provide certificate within 6 months.

Job Stream: Clinical.
Union: MAHCP.
Anticipated Start Date: To Be Determined – 10/08/2026.
FTE: 1.00.
Anticipated Shift: Days; Evenings; Weekends; Standby coverage as required.
Work Arrangement: In Person.
Daily Hours Worked: 7.75.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Charge Medical Technologist or Designate, the Senior Medical Technologist – Computed Tomography will perform the duties of a General Duty Medical Technologist and assist in the general operation of the department. The Senior Technologist will conduct routine and emergency Diagnostic Imaging procedures, serve as a CT resource to all staff, maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines, and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards.

Experience
  • Preference given to individuals with at least two (2) years’ experience as a General Duty Radiography Technologist in a large CT scan/Radiography department.
  • Supervisory experience an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Radiography program with certification by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Must have completed, or be currently registered in, the program for CTIC, and provide certificate within 6 months of employment.
  • Must have completed CT Imaging Courses 1, 2, & 3.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program and registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists within three months of hire.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English (written and oral).
  • Experience in a Windows computer environment and Microsoft Office.
  • Workplace Health and Safety training preferred.
  • Apply technical knowledge to interpretation of results, troubleshooting, and assessment of methods.
  • Organize and prioritize department duties associated with the Senior Technologist position.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Follow oral and written instructions precisely with attention to detail.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills for positive working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and with external agencies.
  • Proficient analytical skills.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Fluent in written and oral French and English may be required.
