The Team

The Court Services Branch of the Ministry of Attorney General is a diverse team of approximately 1,300 staff working across 89 court locations throughout British Columbia. The team delivers essential justice services, including case management, court administration, security, and facility operations, using in-person, phone, video, and online channels to meet the needs of the public. The Role

The Court Clerk / Registry Clerk plays a key role in supporting civil and criminal courts by managing court files, processing documentation, and maintaining accurate case information in computerized tracking systems. This role involves working closely with judges, lawyers, sheriffs, and other justice partners to ensure court proceedings run smoothly and that all users of the court system have access to the information they need. The position fosters a respectful and inclusive environment, valuing equity and diversity while supporting all colleagues and members of the public with fairness and professionalism.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years office experience; OR
  • 1 year of office experience and a minimum of 1 year education/training in a legal related field.
  • Experience/training in keyboarding, word processing and other standard computer applications.
  • Must have a minimum of 40 WPM keyboarding.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience with JUSTIN and/or CEIS.
  • Experience delivering customer service.
