Job summary

Public Prosecution Service in Cape Breton Region is seeking a Crown Attorney for Port Hawkesbury. The incumbent will advise law enforcement, prosecute charges, and report to the Chief Crown Attorney, Cape Breton Region.

This permanent position requires geographic mobility across the province and strong commitment to public safety and justice. The successful candidate will be a practicing Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society member (or eligible) with experience in criminal prosecutions and knowledge

Qualifications

• Practising member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society or eligible to become so.
• Understanding of the prosecution process, criminal procedures, evidence and criminal law.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Crown in criminal and quasi-criminal matters at all levels of court.
• Advise law enforcement and contribute to prosecutions policy and training.
