Job summary

National Research Council Canada (NRC) is seeking a Technical Officer to support the Crop Quality Genomics and Genetics team within the Aquatic and Crop Resource Development Research Centre. The successful candidate will analyze genetic, genomic, and phenotypic data to identify regions and genes linked to crop quality traits, and contribute to experimental design and reproducible workflows.

They will work within a multidisciplinary team, communicate results for project reports and peer-reviewed

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Plant Science or related with genetics coursework.
• Experience with crop population development and genetic mapping.
• Experience with R or Python for genomic data analysis.
• Experience with functional genomics and genomic selection.

Responsibilities

• Support collection, analysis and interpretation of genetic, genomic, and phenotypic data to identify genomic regions and genes linked to crop quality traits.
• Contribute to experiment design, planning and implementation, data analysis and interpretation.
• Aid data management and reproducible analysis workflows; communicate results for reports and publications.
