Scotiabank in Winnipeg/Regina area is hiring a Credit Solutions Associate for Commercial Agriculture Banking. You will partner with Client Relationship Managers to analyze financial statements, structure tailored financing, and support onboarding, KYC and ongoing client maintenance across Canada.

You will collaborate with internal teams to fulfill credit facilities, monitor portfolio health, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering excellent client service and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Business/Finance/Accounting/Agriculture Business or related field.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements and assessing credit risk.
  • Familiarity with KYC/AML onboarding and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis and credit assessments for agriculture clients across Canada.
  • Analyze financial statements, projections, borrowing bases and other docs to support credit decisions.
  • Coordinate with internal partners to fulfill approved credit facilities and funding conditions.
  • Maintain regulatory and risk management compliance and proper client documentation.

Join Scotiabank's Commercial Agriculture Banking team as a Credit Solutions Associate (CSA). In this role, you will be a key partner to Client Relationship Managers, providing end-to-end credit underwriting and portfolio management support for Agriculture clients across Canada.

You will help deliver tailored financial solutions, support credit decision-making, and contribute to an exceptional client experience while developing your expertise in commercial lending, risk management, and relationship banking.

How You Will Make an Impact:

Credit Analysis and Underwriting

  • Conduct financial analysis and credit assessments for new and existing commercial agriculture clients.
  • Analyze financial statements, projections, borrowing bases, and other supporting documentation.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and trends, and prepare recommendations to support sound credit decisions.
  • Assist in structuring tailored financing solutions that meet client needs.

Client and Portfolio Support

  • Partner closely with Client Relationship Managers to support a portfolio of borrowing and non-borrowing clients.
  • Collect and review financial information, monitor portfolio performance, and identify potential signs of deterioration.
  • Help address client inquiries and resolve escalated issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support onboarding, Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and ongoing client maintenance activities.

Fulfillment and Funding

  • Coordinate with internal business partners to ensure efficient execution of approved credit facilities.
  • Assist with completion of funding requirements and conditions precedent.
  • Ensure a seamless experience throughout the credit fulfillment process.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management guidelines.
  • Ensure client documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
  • Support the Bank's risk culture through sound judgment and proactive portfolio monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the client experience.
  • Participate in training and development activities to strengthen credit and banking expertise.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative, and high‑performing team environment.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and commercial lending principles.
  • Knowledge of credit structures, risk management practices, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong client service mindset with excellent relationship‑building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound problem‑solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Must-Have

  • College or University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Agriculture Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements and assessing credit risk.
  • Knowledge of commercial banking products, services, and processes.
  • Familiarity with KYC, AML, onboarding, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in Commercial Banking, Credit Adjudication, Agriculture Banking, or Financial Services.
  • Knowledge of Commercial Banking systems and platforms such as Salesforce, Intralink, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Understanding of Agriculture industry operations and financial drivers.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional banking partners.
