The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:

• Experience in facilitating arts or recreation.
• Ability to facilitate group sessions.

• Administrative skills to do record keeping, budget control, and other tasks as it relates to the art program

Additional assets:

• Knowledge and/or experience in a mental health/addiction setting.
• Experience of group facilitation in a healthcare setting.

List of Duties

The duties of the Creative Arts Facilitator are outlined as follows:

• To plan, develop and deliver art activities in conjunction with other Programme Coordinators.
• To supervise and support external volunteers and students where required.
• To liaise with relevant staff in ensuring the maximum communication and understanding of the art activities.
• To comply with organization guidelines in the delivery of art activities.
• To ensure that all art resources and storage areas are well-maintained at all times.
• To ensure that clients are properly received in a welcoming and safe creative space.
• In conjunction with the client services, ensure the art budget is properly used and accounted for.
• To carry out all other duties relevant to the role as may be specified from time to time.

Sunshine Coast Health Centre and Georgia Strait Womens Clinic are a private residential treatment centre for addictions and mental health in Powell River, BC. We are a licensed and accredited residential care facility as well as registered B Corp dedicated to helping clients transcend through their addictions through a collaborative and comprehensive program of counselling, medical, and psychiatric care.

We are currently seeking a Contract Creative Arts Facilitators for coverage, when needed, to plan and deliver group art activities to our clients. Art activities take place on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
