Job summary

STRIVE is seeking an Overhead Crane Technician to repair and maintain cranes at multiple manufacturing plants across the GTA. The role is based out of Oakville, with 90% offsite work and a company-provided work truck.

We require 5 years of crane experience (or equivalent) and a strong electrical/mechanical background, plus a valid 309A license is preferred. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential for this field role.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience as overhead crane technician or equivalent.
• Secondary school diploma or high school equivalent.
• Potential 309A license; welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and inspect cranes, hoists, and related equipment.
• Repair, install, and perform preventative maintenance on cranes.
• Inspect equipment, order parts, and maintain maintenance records.
• Travel to multiple plants across the GTA; operate work truck.

THE ROLE

As an Overhead Crane Technician, you will be working at various manufacturing plants throughout the GTA, repairing overhead cranes. This is a great permanent opportunity for someone who enjoys traveling to various sites while working for a reputable well-established company that treats you like a family member. You will be given a work truck to travel to different plants to perform repair services and preventative maintenance on the cranes. The position is based out of Oakville, but 90% of your time is working offsite. We are looking for someone with 5 years' experience as an overhead crane technician.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Display a professional image and work within a team environment to accomplish goals
• Inspect hoists, cranes, systems, chain falls, and pullers
• Order parts and maintain inventory
• Keep maintenance reports and documentationPerform crane inspections, repairs, and installations and respond to breakdown calls
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts

Requirements

• 5 years experience as an overhead crane technician OR certified Electrician
• Secondary school diploma or high school equivalent as a minimum
• 3 Years of Hands-On Electrical Experience- the ideal candidate will have a 309A license
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Welding experience is considered an asset
• Mechanical aptitude
• Excellent people and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Lifting up to 50lbs
• Knowledge and understanding of structural, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Able to work in elevated areas
• Must have reliable own transportation, G License in good standing
