WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Responsibilities
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Prepare production and other reports
  • Co-ordinate and schedule activities
  • Co-ordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules

  • Train or arrange for training
Job Duties
  • Preparation for lifting activities, including mobilising the crane and making it operational, checking for the presence of all the required lifting gear and documentation for personnel and equipment, discussing the lifting plan and providing any technical advice to the client, directing the logistic process and taking all prescribed safety precautions.
  • Checking secured loads, ensure compliance with rigging instructions (and those of the client), and safely moving the load using the crane, which may be in unusual or complex configurations.
  • Supervising, coordinating and directing a small to medium-sized team of employees (5 – 10 Crane/Rigging Operators, Truck Drivers and contracted staff). Ensuring that all members of the team (both internal and contracted staff) have a professional and constructive attitude to the work.
  • Providing instructions on, monitoring of and actively promoting compliance with all applicable internal and external safety and environmental regulations and recognizes, flags and reports any safety risks
  • Consulting with various personnel, including the Planner, Rigging Operator and/or client, with respect to job preparation, operations and progress
  • Primary responsible for the daily maintenance and management of the crane and accessories in accordance with the manual, through flagging up the need for maintenance services and overseeing light maintenance work on the crane
  • Carrying out administrative work, including filling in the crane order / order form with client‘s signature, completing the digital weekly report and other administration, all fully in line with internal and external requirements
