A global professional services firm in Toronto seeks a CPA CoE Manager to oversee the CPA practical experience program. Responsibilities include managing practical experience reporting, developing training for students, and ensuring compliance with CPA regulations. The ideal candidate has a CPA designation and strong project management skills, with a passion for leadership and building relationships. This role offers a 21-month full-time contract within an inclusive, hybrid work environment.
The Ethics & Compliance Office ensures the firm complies with all internal and external obligations, manages risk, and protects the PwC brand. We ensure adherence to internal and external controls and regulations which includes the monitoring, testing and reporting on compliance.
The Chartered Professional Accountant Centre of Excellence (CPA CoE) is a subset of the Ethics & Compliance Office which focuses on the Canadian CPA designation regulatory requirements and reporting for our professional staff and the firm.
As a CPA CoE Manager you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Focusing on the CPA practical experience requirements and performing the CPA Pre-approved Program manager and leader's role and responsibilities. This requires the national management of all CPA students’ practical experience reporting.
Developing and delivering practical experience onboarding training and semi-annual workshops for CPA students and CPA mentors
Ensuring accurate practical experience reporting in agreement with the firm’s CPA program requirements
Reviewing and driving regulatory compliance and reporting results to the provincial bodies and key stakeholders
Completing month end activities including reconciliations, student registrations and follow up on outstanding reporting requirements
Monitoring and assessing the impact of changes in CPA regulations and bylaws on firm’s policies and procedures
Representing PwC and negotiating practical experience processes and policy changes with the CPA provincial bodies
Notifying key stakeholders of relevant policy and procedure updates and requirements
Leading and executing on special projects as required
Coaching, managing and developing others

A Canadian CPA designation with experience in a professional services role
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple/complex projects with tight deadlines
Communicates confidently and builds relationships with the ability to collaborate with all stakeholders
Strong presentation skills, including facilitating group discussions, and preparing and delivering presentations
Demonstrates a keen attention to detail, recognizing that these details are integral to shaping our business outcomes.
A demonstrated commitment to valuing different and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
Ability to exercise judgment and ensure appropriate involvement of all stakeholders
