Job summary

The Mason Group is seeking an SFA - Costing for a client in Canada. The role focuses on costing analyses across production sites, supporting plant operations and finance with detailed insights, variances, and procurement alignment.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance & Accounting, you will help prepare budgets, drive cost improvements, and partner cross-functionally to explain drivers. CPA or in progress and strong Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or working towards completion.
• Post Secondary education in Business, Accounting or a related field.
• Must have strong Excel skills.
• Experience working with Microsoft Business Central or a similar ERP system.
• Proven strong analytical and cost accounting skills required.
• Strong critical thinking skills to develop creative solutions to business issues and opportunities.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, organizational skills, & initiative to drive improvement efforts.
• US CPG or similar experience is as asset.
• Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques for plant operations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Plant Operations and Finance with detailed costing analysis across all production sites, logistics expenses and purchase price variances against the procurement plan.
• Ensure the integrity of financial information as well as compliance with policies and internal controls.
• Collect, compile, reporting and analyzing costing information with respect to the company’s manufacturing operations.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and reports to key management to lead and support continuous improvement projects.
• Partner cross functionally to understand and explain key drivers and update costing on a periodic basis.
