Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Cost Assessment Engineer in Training (EIT) to support our Urban Planning and Economy team. You will assist with cost-sharing programs, review arterial road and boundary assessments, and help manage costs for municipal projects with guidance from senior engineers.

You will collaborate with developers, consultants, and internal teams to ensure compliance with design standards and accurate cost estimation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Must be registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with APEGA (in good standing) and working towards a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation.

Responsibilities

• Assist external consulting engineers to review arterial cross-sections when standard designs are unsuitable.
• Review municipal infrastructure designs for compliance with City standards and Complete Streets guidelines.
• Examine cost estimates and quantities to ensure unit rates align with arterial cross-sections.
