Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Calgary seeks an experienced Cost Controller - Reporting & Analytics to support corporate financial reporting and performance analytics on a major capital project. You will enable data-driven decision-making by delivering KPI dashboards and reliable cost, commitments, and cash-flow insights using Power BI and SAP inputs.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in cost control or project finance within mining, oil & gas, or infrastructure, strong Power BI, data modelling and KPI

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cost control, project finance, or financial analysis in mining, oil & gas, or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of project financial processes including cost control, forecasting, earned value, accruals, and cash flow.
• Intermediate Power BI skills with data modelling, DAX, and dashboard design.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Ability to develop KPIs and reporting frameworks that support governance and decision-making.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills for senior stakeholders.
• Experience in a project-based environment is highly preferred.
• High engagement and proactive attitude that thrives in a high pace environment.

Responsibilities

• Support requirement definition, develop business process maps and training material for Corporate reporting dashboards.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide clear, decision-ready insights across cost, commitments, cash flow, and performance metrics
• Provide ad hoc analysis and customized reports to support executive and operational decision making
• Translate complex project data (SAP/ERP, cost systems, procurement, and schedule inputs) into structured, reliable reporting outputs
• Define and maintain KPIs, including tolerance thresholds, and support performance tracking aligned to Finance governance and review processes
• Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and alignment across multiple data sources and reporting layers
• Support monthly reporting cycles, including preparation of finance review materials, variance commentary, and risk identification
• Collaborate with Corporate functions, and operational teams to align reporting with business processes and decision-making needs
• Continuously improve reporting efficiency by reducing manual processes and enhancing automation and standardization

Who are you?

We are seeking an experienced Cost / Finance professional with a strong background in developing business requirements and Power BI reporting solutions. This role will support corporate, financial reporting, and performance analytics on a major capital project, playing a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making, governance, and performance management.

The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience in cost control and/or project finance within mining (preferred), oil & gas, or large-scale construction environments, combined with intermediate Power BI capabilities and a solid understanding of data modelling, KPI development, and reporting frameworks.
