Job summary

Randstad Canada partners with a premier Food & Beverage manufacturer in York Region to hire a Cost Accounting Manager. You will own standard costing, BOMs, variances, and inventory valuation, partnering with plant operations and executive finance leaders.

You will drive cost data integrity during the AX to JD Edwards upgrade while delivering month-end cost reports. This role blends hands-on plant exposure with strategic leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or active CPA path with degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years cost accounting experience in CPG/food & beverage/high-volume manufacturing.
• ERP experience (JD Edwards or MS Dynamics AX) and advanced Excel/financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Own standard costing models, BOMs, labor routings, and overhead allocation for all product lines.
• Analyze variances across 25 production lines and translate into profitability insights.
• Perform multi-category inventory reconciliations between counts, GL, and ERP.
• Lead cost data integrity during ERP transition from AX to JD Edwards and prepare month-end cost reports.

What You Will Do & Learn:

• Standard Costing & BOM Maintenance: Take full ownership of standard cost models, Bills of Materials (BOMs), labor routings, and overhead allocation methodologies for all manufactured product lines.
• Variance Analysis & Operational Insights: Track, analyze, and report on material, labor, yield, waste, and scrap variances across 25 production lines, turning plant metrics into actionable profitability insights.
• Inventory Valuation & Controls: Perform multi-category inventory reconciliations (raw materials, packaging, WIP, finished goods) between physical counts, the general ledger, and the ERP system.
• ERP Transition & Financial Reporting: Lead costing data integrity during the migration from Microsoft Dynamics AX to JD Edwards, while preparing month-end variance schedules and cost reporting packages.

Who You Are:

• CPA designation (completed or actively pursuing the CPA PEP program) paired with a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of hands‑on cost accounting experience within a CPG, Food & Beverage, or high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in standard costing, BOM management, inventory controls, and plant variance analysis across complex production setups.
• Experience with enterprise ERP systems (JD Edwards or MS Dynamics AX experience is a major asset), supported by advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Positive, high‑grit, and curious communicator comfortable partnering effectively with both shop‑floor operations and executive finance leaders.
