Those in international tax at PwC will provide advice and guidance to clients on structuring their global tax positions. Your work will involve analysing international tax laws and regulations to develop strategies that optimise tax efficiency and minimise risks for multinational businesses.
As a Corporate Tax Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Advise clients on local and cross‑border tax affairs, acting as a strategic consultant, leveraging your understanding of their business requirements and innovative tax optimization techniques. Understand client stakeholder objectives, with the ability to navigate the client’s business operations to bring ideas for tax efficiency, including reorganizations, business expansion, exits, often involving, as appropriate, a multidisciplinary tax team in a role of primary client point of contact. Improve clients’ tax functions to control risk and facilitate better decision‑making.
Focus on tax strategy, ensuring compliance, increasing post‑tax profits, and providing application support for best corporate tax practices.
Stay abreast of tax developments relevant to your client portfolio, proactively engaging clients in discussions to timely address tax considerations, including sharing of such experiences amongst the broader service team and colleagues.
Work directly with a wide variety of public and private clients across multiple industries and jurisdictions to provide distinctive client service.
Manage the client service team on a portfolio of clients, including budgeting, engagement letters, technology deployment, resource and work allocation, and billing and coordination with other PwC teams involved with client.
Develop new skills outside of comfort zone and act to resolve issues preventing effective teamwork.
Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development.
Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations using multiple sources of information.
Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems.
Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct, focusing on building trusted relationships internally and with clients.
CPA (CA, CMA, or CGA) or other accounting designation is an asset.
Completion or near completion of the CPA In‑depth Tax Course or Master of Taxation (MTax) program is an asset.
Strong technical background and broad‑based tax skills as a result of prior experience in a professional services firm or in industry.
A proven leader with strong business development and entrepreneurial skills who possesses exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical capability, sound business sense, and a creative mind that has earned you the reputation of providing excellence in client service.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments in an organized manner.
Ability to manage, develop, retain, and mentor junior tax professionals.
Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude when working under pressure.
Interact in a personable manner, with the ability to build and lead teams, including the coordination of both local and global subject matter experts, with an eye for managing the client’s experience.
