Project

The Woodfibre LNG Facility is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish British Columbia. Currently in construction the Woodfibre LNG will have a storage capacity of 250000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.

Position

The Corporate Security Manager is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team and is accountable for delivering the company’s security strategy and program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct security threat assessments and manage security risks.
  • Practice laws of Canada and BC in rights and protection of corporation against protests and civil disobediences by individuals and organizations.
  • Possess working knowledge of access control and CCTV systems.
  • Develop and manage physical security programs for complex projects and operational footprints.
  • Develop partnerships with local and national enforcement agencies.
  • Design security operation processes; manage daily security operations.
  • Interface with indigenous partners including support for development of local security service providers.
  • Develop and operate security‑related intelligence monitoring and assessment tools.
  • Design and implement security performance measurements; provide holistic quality assurances.
  • Serve as a trusted security advisor to the corporation.
  • Provide strategic security insights about business products, technical challenges and risks.
Requirements
  • 10 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility in a private‑sector corporate security organization.
  • Experience on a major natural resource project in BC highly preferred.
  • Experience in developing/implementing project and corporate security programs for a high‑profile project.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of best‑in‑class security processes and practices.
  • Expert in marine operational security requirements including but not limited to MARSEC.
  • Extensive experience conducting security quality assessments.
  • Expertise in HSSE management system structures and program development.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a contract security workforce for 5 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Subject‑matter expert on managing security operations; Extensive experience managing contract security technical security crisis management/emergency response and physical security operational programs; proven knowledge of applying physical security principles at scale.
  • ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Physical Security Professional (PSP) designation is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in navigating high‑stress and high‑impact emergency management and response.
  • Experience with strategy management and converting strategy to execution.
  • Energy sector network.
  • Canadian Law enforcement network.
Additional Requirements
  • Comfortable working in a wide range of environments and audiences from the plant site to the boardroom and in private and public venues.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including consulting team building and collaboration.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to an audience with various functional knowledge.
  • Communication skills and experience leading effectively across organizations.
  • Working knowledge of executive protection.
  • Law enforcement/military experience a plus but not required.
  • International work experience a plus but not required.
  • Membership on energy‑sector related security councils/boards.
  • Expertise with a variety of computer programs (e.g., Office 365, MS Teams).
  • A valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • As required, the position is based in Vancouver, BC with travel to Squamish (site) and occasional international business travel.
