Job summary

Intracorp Projects Ltd. seeks a Corporate Controller (12-month Contract) to lead all corporate accounting functions in Vancouver. The role currently oversees a team of three and drives day-to-day execution of the strategic accounting plan in ASPE environments and in collaboration with investors.

You will manage month-end closes, prepare management packages, and coordinate tax filings with our advisors. This position emphasizes process improvements, ERP deployment, and leadership development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Strong GAAP, consolidation/equity accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Canadian tax compliance experience - T5013s (Partnership) and T2 (Corporate) filings.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with motivated individuals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience is an asset.
  • Experience in system implementation from inception is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Corporate month/quarter/year-end close including working papers and equity pickup of multiple entities.
  • Review monthly/quarterly financial statements and ensure ASPE alignment.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management packages with variance analysis.
  • Lead corporate and partnership tax filings, forecasts and regulatory reports with tax advisors and investors.
  • Oversee ERP implementation; automate recurring journals, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Design and test internal controls; maintain risk matrices and accounting policies.
  • Manage annual audit and compilation engagements under ASPE.
  • Lead the 5-year budget planning process and variance analysis.
  • Oversee cash management, vendor payments, and monthly cash-flow model.
  • Support corporate insurance program and CPA mentorship within the team.

  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2-3 years at the manager level or above.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, this role is responsible for leading all aspects of Corporate Accounting. Currently overseeing a team of three, you'll be responsible for optimizing the day-to-day execution of the Corporate Accounting strategy and current-year plans. This role will be key in developing the next generation of talent and enforcing accountability across departments.

You will:

  • Lead Corporate month/quarter/year-end close including supporting working papers and combination/equity pickup of multiple entities.
  • Review monthly/quarterly financial statements, ensure alignment with ASPE.
  • Produce monthly/quarterly management packages, with insightful variance analysis.
  • Lead, review and prepare corporate and partnership tax filings, forecasts and regulatory reports, working closely with our tax advisors and investors.
  • Lead our ERP implementation; automate recurring journals, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Design, document and test internal controls; maintain risk matrix and accounting policy manuals.
  • Manage the annual audit and compilation engagements including financial statements under ASPE.
  • Lead Vancouver's 5-year budget planning process (semi-annual), including G&A budget and variance analysis.
  • Lead our cash management process including invoice/payments approvals and maintaining a monthly cash-flow model, strategically optimize cashflow needs.
  • Lead our Corporate Insurance program.
  • Mentor the accounting team, provide CPA mentorship and career development.
  • Build and refine Excel-based models to eliminate manual work.
  • Partner with the Vice President Finance on ad-hoc strategic analyses and process-improvement initiatives across the organization.
