About the Role

As the Coordinator, Government Relations & Corporate Affairs, you’ll be at the heart of a fast moving, high impact advocacy team—keeping priorities aligned, information flowing, and strategic initiatives on track. You’ll play a critical role in shaping how the team shows up to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring every deliverable is polished, timely, and strategically sound.

What You Get to Do

Strategic Coordination

  • Coordinate and prepare materials for meetings, presentations, and planning sessions in collaboration with the team
  • Prepare meeting notes, track action items, and ensure timely distribution
  • Liaise with internal team members to prioritize tasks and support efficient workflows
  • Anticipate team needs and make informed decisions to foster an organized and effective work environment
  • Prepare and review confidential stakeholder communications, executive briefings, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Act as a liaison between the team and internal/external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry partners, and government agencies—to ensure seamless communication
  • Provide creative recommendations to resolve issues, facilitate outcomes, and continuously improve processes and procedures with broad cross-functional impacts

General Administrative Support

  • Draft, edit, and format a variety of documents, including highly confidential correspondence, presentations, and proposals for board and executive audiences
  • Ensure executive is fully prepared for meetings by organizing relevant documents and background information
  • Support special projects such as government submissions, weekly priority updates, and government funding reports
  • Maintain the Government Relations internal ATCO Insite web page under the direction of the Senior Advisor, Government Relations
  • Manage administrative tasks including expense reporting, calendar coordination, and travel arrangements and logistics
  • Assist with special projects and event management as required

Lobbying & Regulatory Reporting

  • Track and compile lobbying activities to ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations
  • Conduct reviews to confirm lobby reporting meets regulatory requirements and ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Review event participation lists to ensure compliance with lobby gifting legislation
  • Collect and update information related to government funding applications and maintain the Government Funding Report
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or GED is required; a post-secondary education in a related field (such as Political Science) is an asset
  • 3+ years supporting professional team projects
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, AI and project management tools
  • Advanced professional interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with all levels within the company, as well as with outside customers
  • Conscientious self-starter who enjoys working in a team environment, needs minimal supervision and is able to effectively manage and prioritize workload under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to exercise discretion, judgment, diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to perform maturely and professionally ensuring complete confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information
  • Superior interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, act logically to evaluate situations, solve problems and make decisions
  • A valid driver’s license, with the ability to travel (upwards of 10%) as required between Calgary and Edmonton
