Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity in the Central and North Region (CNR)! This position provides support for Northern projects and requires travel across Northern Canada (Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut). The Coordinator, Construction Services, manages and administers medium-complexity construction, professional services and service contracts during construction to ensure compliance with contract requirements. The incumbent engages in daily discussions and negotiations with contractors, consultants and the Client-Partners about quality of work, interpretation of contract documents, scope changes, progress claim reviews and other issues. The incumbent addresses contract management risks within delegated authority, complies with service line requirements, and integrates activities with site teams and other service lines.

We are seeking candidates with experience delivering construction, infrastructure, or capital projects, particularly in northern, remote, or isolated locations. The ideal candidate has experience managing multiple projects, contracts, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders simultaneously, while coordinating project planning, scheduling, logistics, forecasting, procurement, contract administration, and change management activities. Experience working on active or occupied facilities, overseeing quality assurance and commissioning activities, and managing projects involving critical building systems such as generators, fuel systems, fire alarm/life safety systems, or similar infrastructure will be considered a strong asset. Success in this role requires strong technical, communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and documentation skills, as well as the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, engineering reports, and contract documents.

To begin a career with Defence Construction Canada (DCC), you must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. As a condition of employment with DCC, a minimum reliability security status clearance is required and some roles may require secret security status clearance.

DCC is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process . Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information. The process usually involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, and credit checks (as required) and may require fingerprints.
