Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cook Supervisor for a new Corrections client site launching in September 2026. You will oversee daily food service operations, supervise inmate workers, and ensure compliance with safety, security, and nutrition standards.

Responsibilities include training staff, maintaining inventory, and conducting regular inspections to uphold quality and safety. A strong team ethos and effective communication are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in food service operations.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in institutional, healthcare, correctional, military, or large-volume food service environments is an asset.
• A team-first attitude and strong communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job demands (e.g., lifting, standing for long periods)

Responsibilities

• Cook and Supervise daily food service operations, ensuring meals meet menus, nutrition, and production schedules.
• Lead, train, and oversee food service staff and inmate workers, assigning duties and monitoring performance.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and sanitation.
• Maintain security and accountability of kitchen tools, equipment, food supplies, and chemicals.
• Manage inventory and assist with ordering, receiving, and storage of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen facilities and equipment for safety and readiness.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to meals, inventory, temperatures and sanitation.
• Promote a safe and respectful workplace by enforcing OH&S standards and addressing hazards.
• Support emergency response, security procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
