Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a cook to prepare food to corporate standards in a fast-paced setting. This role focuses on consistency, quality, and adherence to safety guidelines while delivering excellent service.

The successful candidate will bring proven cooking experience, a Food Safety Certification, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a high-volume kitchen environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place and other products for high-volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment following health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products.
• Communicate effectively with operational departments.
• Report maintenance needs, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Job description

The hourly wage rate for this position is $20. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Prepares food in accordance with applicable corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare "mise en place" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and otherproducts as required for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
