Job summary

Chartwell Oak Ridges Retirement Residence in Richmond Hill, ON, is looking for a part-time Cook to prepare, plate, and deliver meals that align with our seasonal menu guidelines. You will ensure safety and quality by following public health standards and proper food handling practices.

In this role you’ll keep kitchen areas clean, help with ordering and receiving supplies, and work with a supportive team to provide nourishing, enjoyable meals for residents.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in food services.
• Food Handler certification.
• Work collaboratively as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and plate food following Chartwell menu guidelines.
• Comply with all public health regulations and safe food handling guidelines.
• Maintain food preparation areas and equipment in a sanitary condition.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time and at the correct temperature.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and storing food supplies.

Additional Requirements

• Wear personal protective equipment as required
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry heavy items
• Manual dexterity to handle cooking tools and kitchen equipment
