Job description

We're beginning an exciting transformation and are looking for additional team members to support us through this period of change. As a Conversion & Renewal Underwriter on our High Net Worth team, you will be responsible for the review of policies being converted into Guidewire Policy Centre, ensuring that pricing and data are accurate, and that each policy meets Ovation’s underwriting criteria. Clear and consistent communication with our broker partners will be key as we navigate this transition period.

What you’ll do:
  • Deliver superior quality service, aiming for first point resolution in all interactions
  • Maintain an informed mindset and challenge the status quo to provide the best underwriting service
  • Review renewals of existing Ovation policies as they are converted into our new policy administration system
  • Analyze data, pricing, and coverage, ensuring policies meet the specific needs of Ovation customers
  • Negotiate coverage options and premium while maintaining underwriting discipline and profitability
  • Order and analyze reports, including claims histories and driver’s abstracts
  • Navigate multiple applications at the same time, including Guidewire Policy Centre, Aviva Broker Portal, Salesforce, Five9, and other web-based applications
  • Effectively prioritize tasks to ensure delivery in a timely manner
  • Exhibit a high degree of integrity when representing Ovation to our Broker Partners, working with team members and Ovation leaders, and with key stakeholders at Aviva Canada Inc.
  • Continuously update soft skills and product / industry knowledge through internal and external learning opportunities.
What you’ll bring:

  • Ability to interact in a professional manner to develop lasting relationships with brokers
  • Ability to listen to broker and customer needs to effectively and efficiently meet them
  • Ability to work with internal business partners to deliver a great broker and customer experience
