Job summary

CIV-Barsatech, a Laurentide Controls company, is seeking a Conventional Machinist in La Baie, Quebec to manufacture replacement parts for industrial equipment. You will operate lathes, milling and boring machines, perform setups, read drawings and inspect parts to ensure quality.

You will contribute to the reliability of customer operations within a collaborative, safety‑minded team. English knowledge may be required to serve customers and suppliers per Bill 96.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

As a Conventional Machinist, you will be responsible for performing various machining operations to manufacture replacement parts for industrial equipment.

You will work with a variety of conventional machine tools and will be responsible for setups, interpreting manufacturing drawings, and performing the necessary inspections to ensure the quality of the parts produced. Your precision and commitment to quality will directly contribute to the quality of the products and services we provide to our customers.

In This Role, You Will
  • Operate conventional machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and boring machines;
  • Perform the setups required for machining parts;
  • Measure parts and perform quality inspections;
  • Optimize machine productivity;
  • Verify programs against manufacturing drawings;
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
Essential Qualifications For Success

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has
  • Training in machining or relevant machining experience;
  • Experience as a Conventional Machinist;
  • Good knowledge of conventional machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and boring machines;
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings;
  • Experience with machine setups and equipment preparation for machining;
  • Good knowledge of measurement and dimensional inspection methods;
  • Good knowledge of machining tools and processes;
  • Strong attention to detail, autonomy, and a commitment to quality;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
