Job summary

Johnson Controls Canada is seeking an on-site HVAC commissioning technician to perform system commissioning using our configuration tools and resolve basic mechanical/electrical issues. You will respond to warranty calls and ensure safety on the worksite in Brampton.

You will load controller software, run diagnostics from controllers to end devices, and complete commissioning documentation. Strong teamwork and safety mindset are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field, or 3–5 years HVAC servicing experience.
• General knowledge of HVAC controls, facilities management systems, site preparation and peripheral equipment installation/servicing.
• Effective interpersonal skills to professionally represent Johnson Controls.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people; leadership to support on non-complex building automation projects.
• PC experience; ability to program HVAC related software after training.

What you will do

Performs assigned system commissioning usingJohnson Controlsconfiguration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Responds to basic warranty calls.

How you will do it

• Loads system-level controller software.
• Performsmore sophisticatedcommissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e.,sensors, actuators,etc.) and finishes the required commissioning documentation.
• Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer advised of job progress and issues.
• Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
• Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
• Documents changes and provides information for as built documentation.
• Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

Required

• Two-year degreein electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar fieldor at leastthree to five years of industry experienceor experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques
• Effective interpersonal skills to accurately represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
• PC experience required
• The ability to program HVAC related software after completing the required training

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26.6-$36.41 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflectsthe target compensation for this role.
