A reputable manufacturing firm is looking for an experienced Control Systems Specialist to join their team.
This position is to replace a retiring employee so they are looking for a candidate that is looking for a long-term position. That are looking to grow and advance with the the same company for as long as possible.
Essential Duties:
- Ensure safe practices prior to working on any equipment to prevent harm to themself and to others.
- Lead in solving any measurement or control problem (PLCs, drives, sensors).
- Monitor, troubleshoot and determine stability within a control system (drive speed/torque controller or any process control loop).
- Develop, troubleshoot, and implement changes in collaboration with the Maintenance and Operations Teams in order to maintain and/or improve process line automation.
- Actively participate in problem-solving activities related to operation of equipment in the facility on both a preventive and reactive basis.
- Demonstrate safety in the workplace by following and complying with company’s safety policies.
- Create and assist with CMMS work orders and project execution.
Secondary Duties:
- Stockroom inventory management including shipping and receiving.
- Assist in development and liaison with OEM vendors, suppliers, and external services.
- Participating in meetings and committees to communicate information and serve as a liaison with other departments and managers.
- Provide documented report on incoming inspections for quality as required.
- Conferring with supervisors and operators in order to report equipment malfunctions and resolve production problems.
- Using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment to perform duties.
- Compliance to Environmental Health and safety standards and engagement with EHS program and duties as assigned.
- Safe Operations of equipment, lifting devices, industrial vehicles including but not limited to: Forklift, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms, Cranes Provide coaching and expertise to other members by sharing expertise and working as a team to meet common business objectives.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Other duties as assigned for which he/she has received required training, possesses qualifications and/or is considered competent.
Job Specifications:
- Successful completion of a three (3) year Community College Diploma Program in Automation or Control Systems Technology.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience with instrumentation and automated controls in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Minimum three (3) years PLC/SCADA practical experience.
- Knowledge of related acts, guidelines, regulations and legislation and the PLC/SCADA Standards.
- Computer skills including skill in MS Office, Access, SCADA, PLC and HMI programming - Allan Bradley and Siemens essential.
- Practical working knowledge of Motor controls (A.C., D.C.), Motion servo controls, Allan Bradley, Man machine safety interfaces.
- Basic technical aptitude including but not limited to computers, math, assembly, and general manufacturing principles.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours/shifts.
- Previous experience with pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and industrial applications.
- Working knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices used in plant management, construction, and repair.
- Satisfactory criminal reference check in accordance with the company’s policy.

Shifts:
Afternoons, weekdays. Some on-call will be required but it is infrequent
Wage:
$43.07/hr
