Job description

We are looking for a Control Technician, specialized in building automation, instrumentation, and integration, to join our team in Kingston. Our projects include different areas such as ventilation, geothermal energy, solar energy (thermal and voltaic), access, heating and cooling plant, lighting and the latest technological innovations (IoT, Data Analytic, Cloud) to meet our clients' expectations.

What you’ll do?
  • Test and verify the quality of controls installations.
  • Perform calibration and maintenance of detection and actuation devices.
  • Complete programming of digital control systems.
  • Perform system and equipment start-ups and completing the related documentation.
  • Tune PID loop.
  • Make GUI modifications.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and determining corrective actions.
  • Install and terminate control devices, such as controllers, sensors, actuators, and relays.
  • Provide training to clients.
  • Respect health and safety policies at all times.
Must have:
  • College diploma in Instrumentation and automation, Electronics, or building mechanical systems or a university diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Your Skills:
  • Ability to perform physical job-related tasks.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Knowledge in general-purpose programming languages (BASIC, C++, GCL).
  • Experience with Building Automation System.
  • Eligibility to obtain federal security clearance, including Reliability or Secret levels, is generally required.
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of HVAC.
  • Knowledge of BACnet protocol.
  • Knowledge of computer and telecommunication networks.
  • Valid health and safety trainings: WHMIS, working at heights, locks and tags, Arc flash awareness.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Access to a vehicle.
