Job summary

Acerta Energy in Cochrane, Alberta is seeking a Contract Field Operator to support daily field production at our well sites and facilities. You will be enrolled in the Acerta CMDS Safety Program and may perform small project work, new well commissioning, and CMDS-related tasks.

This role requires 100% time in the field, with duties including safe operations, production reporting, cost reduction, and collaboration with lead operators, contractors, and other technical groups to bring wells on

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver's license.
• 2-3 years of operation experience and completion of Grade 12 (GED).
• GPO A-D or PFO A-D or a Trades ticket or Tech diploma are preferred.
• Operator Level 1 or 2, currently working in a CMDS safety program.
• Experience in a similar plant or field environment is advantageous.
• Strong attention to safety performance and leadership by example.
• Good understanding of safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and strong organizational skills; able to work independently and in teams.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, SCADA, and PVR.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safe and environmentally responsible day-to-day field production operations for Acerta field properties and enter daily production reporting.
• Identify and implement methods to lower operating and capital costs.
• Identify and implement methods to improve wellsite and facilities maintenance while reducing costs.
• Participate in CMDS training and sign off on SOPs; provide local supervision in Lead Operator's absence.
• Liaise with accounting, drilling, and completions engineering to plan and bring wells on stream safely and efficiently.
• Ensure contractor and joint venture partner activities are conducted safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.

CONTRACT FIELD OPERATOR

Acerta Energy acquires, optimizes, and develops producing conventional oil and gas assets in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, led by a management team with a proven track record of building successful E&P businesses.

Acerta Energy is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title: Contract Field Operator

Location: Cochrane

Contract Field Operators are expected to provide essential daily support for Acerta well sites or facilities safely and efficiently. They must be enrolled in the Acerta Competency CMDS Safety Program and may be asked to handle other field duties as required by Lead Operators. These duties may include smaller project supervision, new well commissioning, volume variances, etc. The position requires that operators spend 100% of their time in the field.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct safe and environmentally responsible day-to-day field production operations for Acerta field properties, enter daily production reporting, and optimize producing wells & facilities to maximize production.
• Identify and implement methods to lower operating and capital costs.
• Identify and implement methods to improve wellsite and facilities maintenance and reduce maintenance costs.
• Participate and work to improve Acerta’s HSE policies/Culture. Support and attend safety meetings.
• Serve as a field representative for all Acerta operations, with an emphasis on being a good neighbor.
• Participate in CMDS training to ensure competency and sign off on all standard operating procedures (SOP);
• Provide local supervision for projects in the Lead Operator’s absence;
• Assist with Management of Change Requests (MOC);
• Conduct Hazard Identifications on Acerta Energy Ltd. sites and audits on 3rd party contractors;
• Assist in safety audits.
• Liaise with other groups in the company, including accounting, drilling, and completions engineering, to plan, execute, and bring wells on stream in the safest, most timely, and most economical manner.
• Ensure dealings with contractors and joint venture partners are handled professionally, ethically, and effectively, ensuring contractor & service work is conducted safely and in an environmentally responsible manner. It is consistent with Acerta’s HS&E requirements.
• Other tasks that may be assigned to you by the Field Superintendent, Field Foreman, or Area Lead Operator.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
• Minimum 2-3 years of operation experience and completion of a General Educational Development (Grade 12) is required.
• GPO A-D or PFO A-D (previously Solis 1, 2, 3) or a Trades ticket or Tech diploma is also preferred.
• Operator Level 1 or 2, currently working in a CMDS safety program
• Candidates would ideally have Operator experience in a similar work environment (both in a plant or in the field);
• Strong attention to safety performance and known for leading by example;
• Good understanding of the safety and regulatory compliance requirements;
• Must be a good communicator with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in team settings;
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Scada and PVR;
