Job summary

Johnson Electric in Stratford, Ontario is seeking a CNC Setter Operator on a contract basis. The role involves setting up CNC machines, loading parts, and ensuring quality targets are met in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

You will monitor machine performance, collect SPC data, and contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives while adhering to safety and environmental procedures. Onsite work with shift options and competitive compensation is offered.

Qualifications

Enrolled in CNC Machining or related manufacturing program.
Basic knowledge of machining principles, CNC equipment, and manufacturing processes.
Understanding of CNC controls and programming fundamentals.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Set up CNC machines and install/remove tooling, chucks, collets, and adapters as required.
Load and unload parts while maintaining production targets and quality standards.
Monitor machine performance, make size adjustments, and index cutting inserts as required.
Collect and chart SPC data according to process specifications.
Follow all Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, and operational procedures.
Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives within the department.
