The Continuous Improvement Specialist, primarily based in Beauceville, will be responsible for implementing various Lean initiatives to achieve operational excellence. The Specialist will manage and contribute to the execution of Agropur’s Operating System (AOS) and play a key role in introducing new work methods, tools, and processes. Acting as a coach and catalyst, they will guide teams, coaches, and leadership toward productivity goals. Occasionally, they may also support plants in Québec and Amqui.

  • Salary scale 006: $98,400 to $123,000 (Base salary will be determined based on academic background, experience, training, and job-related skills).
What’s involved in this role

The Continuous Improvement Specialist’s main responsibilities include:

  • Implementing Lean/6Sigma philosophy using Agropur’s Operating System: loss analysis, daily management system (DMS) tools, problem-solving, SMED, FMEA, SIPOC, and more.
  • Supporting teams and acting as a leader for all elements related to AOS implementation.
  • Assisting in the execution of the plant’s strategic plan (OGSM) by working closely with union partners and local managers while developing teams and resources to achieve SQCDME objectives.
  • Collaborating with the Corporate Operational Improvement Director to develop strategies based on financial and operational site assessments, identifying and managing initiatives aligned with the plant’s strategic plan and SQCDME dashboard.
  • Leading workshops/training sessions to support AOS activities, including facilitating Kaizens/FI when needed.
  • Motivating teams to work together toward common goals.
  • Setting field objectives with different teams, driving change around these objectives, removing obstacles, and implementing problem-solving tools to ensure plant success.
What you need to join our team:
  • University or college degree in engineering or another relevant field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in operations (continuous improvement, production, maintenance, distribution) focused on performance management.
  • Understanding of union culture and experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Mastery of Lean principles.
  • Experience in change management.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving processes: A3, RCA, PDCA.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and ability to mobilize teams to drive change.
  • Availability for occasional travel to Agropur sites.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and intermediate English skills (English required to work with colleagues from other Canadian provinces).
