Opening Statement

The R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is a Long-Term Care Home to 137 Residents and employs 250 staff in various Departments.

The Continuing Care Assistant Lead (CCA-Lead) plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care at RK MacDonald Nursing Home. This position provides both hands‑on care and leadership support to CCA staff, helping to ensure that daily care activities are completed effectively and compassionately in line with each resident’s care plan. The CCA-Lead assists with mentoring new staff, coordinating care practices, supporting recruitment and retention efforts, and helping to maintain proper staffing and resource levels. Continuing Care Assistant Lead, directly reports to the Manager of Clinical Services. The CCA-Lead assists with mentoring new staff, coordinating care practices, supporting recruitment and retention efforts, and helping to maintain proper staffing and resource levels. The role also includes responsibilities related to documentation, inventory management, education rollouts, and fostering a positive team culture. As a bridge between frontline staff and leadership, the CCA- Lead advocates for CCA team members and contributes to continuous improvement in care delivery and workplace well‑being.

Qualifications required

Member of the CCA Registry (Continuing Care Assistant Program – HANS); Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a Long-Term Care and / or Community setting; Experience with scheduling; Experience in facilitating group education; Leadership education or equivalent; Experience considered an asset

Hours of Work

Monday – Friday 8am -4 pm (with flexibility as need arises for evening or weekend shift.

Salary

According to Experience as per Unifor Contract Pay Scale (and premium of one dollar ($1.00) per hour above regular hourly rate for all paid earnings (Paid for all Breaks) 80 bi-weekly
