Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager or designate, and under the general supervision of the Charge Nurse, provides nursing care to assigned residents and patients. Performs nursing procedures such as taking temperature, pulse and respiration in addition to patient care duties relating to feeding, personal hygiene, and transporting of patients. Assists in the various programmes for social, recreational, diversional, and physical therapy and performs clerical duties such as assembling and maintaining patient charts.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience

Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Registered with the BC Care Aide Registry.
