Job Description

This position supports the vision and mission of World Renew and the Marketing Communications (MarComm) Team by managing marketing communications projects from ideation to distribution. Researches, writes and edits compelling content that furthers the engagement of new and existing World Renew audiences.

Location: Burlington, Canada (remote until the end of the year due to COVID-19 restrictions)

Purpose

This position supports the vision and mission of World Renew and the Marketing Communications (MarComm) Team by managing marketing communications projects from ideation to distribution. Researches, writes and edits compelling content that furthers the engagement of new and existing World Renew audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect stories from ministry teams each quarter and edit content. Recommend which stories to use for key marketing campaigns.
  • Liaise with World Renew’s International Disaster Response (IDR) and domestic Disaster Response Services Teams. Lead emergency disaster communication coordination and writing. Lead branding and content for program fundraising, recruitment, and volunteer communications.
  • Manage projects and write the annual Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB) campaign and all other marketing communications for World Renew’s CFGB projects during the year.
  • Write the semi-annual DRS volunteer newsletter.
  • Write and edit a variety of content for communications and marketing purposes such as web stories, email strategies, social media campaigns, direct mail, brochures, newsletters, and presentations.
  • Coordinate photo and story asset gathering in the field for various projects.
  • Assist with the implementation of strategies and tactics for acquisition and donor cultivation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

World Renew seeks an individual who is passionate about language, has advanced writing skills, and is meticulous in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and General Business English. The candidate must have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and proficiency in project management and process mapping. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, collaboration, flexibility, adaptability, self‑motivation, and a proactive work style are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and product management software is required. Knowledge of the Reformed faith/tradition and the CRCNA constituency is an asset. Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field required.
  • Three years of work experience in communications or marketing field required.
  • Knowledge of international disaster response and / or development an asset.
  • High level of proficiency in creative, marketing, and communications writing (marketing content specialist, content writer, senior writer, fundraising writer, mass donor fundraiser).
