Our client, a top banking client in Canada is looking to hire Content Editor - Specialist for their team with a contract for 6 Months. Hybrid role Wednesdays and third Friday of each month in Downtown Toronto

Overview

The English Editor will work within Agile Marketing Pods to apply editorial skills that support the bank’s purpose and commitment to helping clients succeed.

The English Editor will recommend copy solutions based on an understanding of the business, marketing, user experience, and technology requirements and constraints. This role involves collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams (including Design, Translations, Sales Lead and Marketing) to deliver copy that aligns with the brand and user experience. The ideal candidate must be able to work to tight deadlines, have strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Accountabilities
  • Act as the English Editorial lead, providing timelines and resource plan estimates (if needed) for design deliverables.
  • Communicate with confidence: present and revise copy decks at in-person stakeholder review meetings with partners and executives from across the bank. Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, sales leads and internal pod members such as designers, translators and developers.
  • Work closely with cross-disciplinary Agile teams to understand goals and objectives, and understand technical, legal and regulatory constraints. Translate complex business objectives into simple language.
  • Ensure that all content adheres to bank Brand guidelines.
  • Present copy to stakeholders and ensure deliverables follow the appropriate review and approval process, soliciting feedback as needed.
  • Ensure deliverables are executed on time by making copy recommendations that align with campaign objectives.
  • Collaboration: support other Agile pods as needed and manage multiple initiatives, requiring strong organizational and time management skills. Work as part of a collaborative, cross-disciplinary agile pod.
  • Training and developing: leverage English Editorial experience to train and guide new Agile Editors joining the team.
  • Maintain and share Editorial Standards and updates with the teams.

  • 5+ years' experience writing/editing for desktop and mobile devices, with a solid understanding of current best practices and trends in the digital space
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
Nice to Have
  • Degree in English or Journalism or equivalent experience and certifications
  • Solid understanding of WCAG accessibility requirements and inclusive digital design principles
  • Experience in digital marketing
  • Working knowledge of SEO
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
  • Banking Industry experience or large corporation
  • Paid search experience
  • Agency background is helpful
