Position Overview

Merrithew is looking for a Content Creator to help us produce high-impact content that fuels both paid performance and organic reach across platforms like Meta (Instagram/Facebook) and TikTok. This role sits within the Creative Team and reports to the Creative Director, but works closely with Marketing and the Social team to bring brand and campaign moments to life. You will shoot, edit, and optimize short-form video and static content, contributing ideas, writing hooks or scripts when needed, and delivering content that performs.

The ideal candidate understands what makes a video "scroll-stopping" and knows how to balance brand aesthetic with conversion-driven thinking. They are excited by fast-paced production, can translate creative briefs into social-native assets while contributing to the creative testing process.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and Social team to produce content that supports campaign launches, product drops, and evergreen brand storytelling.
  • Create short-form video assets for paid ads and organic channels (especially IG/FB and TikTok).
  • Shoot and edit high-performing content using UGC-style formats, text overlays, voiceovers, and motion graphics.
  • Write basic hooks, ad captions, or UGC-style scripts when needed (with support from the marketing and copy team).
  • Participate in brainstorms and pitch ideas rooted in platform trends and content performance.
  • Adapt and optimize content for different platforms and placements (e.g., Reels vs. TikTok vs. Stories).
  • Receive creative feedback and revise content quickly to support in-season campaign or ad testing needs.
  • Review performance data (e.g., CTR, thumb stop rate, ROAS) shared by the marketing team to help refine future content.
  • Occasionally appear on camera (if comfortable) or film others, for UGC-style creative.
  • Help develop simple storyboards or visual mock-ups to align on ideas before production.
  • Creatively apply AI capabilities and advanced editing techniques to content.
Experience, Education & Designations
  • Ideal candidate has a diploma or a degree in Digital Media / Multimedia Arts, Film / Video Production or Graphic Design / Motion Graphics.
  • 3–5 years of experience creating content for a consumer brand, agency, or as aGC creator with a portfolio of video work.
  • Demonstrated ability to create social-native video that performs (especially for fitness, wellness, lifestyle, fashion, or beauty brands).
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
  • Fluent in social-first video editing using tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or similar.
  • Well-versed in current AI trends, with hands-on experience and the application of AI to short-form video content and static content.
  • Comfortable filming and editing UGC, lo-fi motion, or TikTok-style ads (not just polished studio work).
  • A strong sense of what makes content perform (visual pacing, emotional payoff, strong hooks, and native formatting).
  • Solid understanding of trends, platform behaviors, and short-form video best practices.
  • Comfortable collaborating with Social, Creative, and Marketing stakeholders to support broader campaign goals.
  • Open to feedback, able to work fast without sacrificing the creative quality, and excited to test and iterate on creative ideas.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with the unique industry of fitness and wellness, specifically Pilates. Experience collaborating with influencers is a strong asset.
  • Bonus 2: Owning professional video production equipment and willing to use it is a strong asset.
