Job summary

Roska DBO Inc. in Whitecourt is seeking a Contract Contact Engineer for a 1-year term to report to the Supervisor, Contact Engineering. You will assist with liquid pipeline assets, applying technical expertise and problem-solving to provide safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operational solutions, with some travel required.

The role includes leading investigations, driving continuous improvement, and providing technical leadership to field operations while aligning with budgeted operating costs.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering designation required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Chemical or Mechanical preferred.
  • Progressive years of related industry work experience.
  • Field-related experience is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of project management and engineering processes.
  • Familiarity with ASME/ABSA/AER/CSA codes is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for core operational engineering activities, troubleshooting and optimizing performance.
  • Evaluate technical aspects of operational deviations and lead scoping of change requests.
  • Support pipeline/facility integrity programs and system reviews.
  • Lead investigations and continuous improvement efforts for process safety and MOC.
  • Collaborate with field operations to identify cost-efficient improvements.

Job description

Our client, a large midstream producer, is seeking a contract Contact Engineer for their Whitecourt location for a 1 year term. Reporting to the Supervisor, Contact Engineering, the succcessful candidate willassist with the liquid pipeline assets. They will employ their technical expertise, business knowledge, and problem-solving skills to start, guide, and assist in providing safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operational solutions. Some travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • First point of contact for core operational engineering activities:
    • Troubleshooting and optimizing performance of equipment
    • Evaluating technical aspects of operational deviations
    • Leading screening, prioritization, and up-front scoping of operations engineering notifications/change requests
    • Support pipeline/facility integrity programs
  • Participate in system reviews, optimization, and development engineering activities
  • Lead significant process safety incident investigations and mitigation resolution
  • Lead MOC process Continuous Improvement efforts
  • Participating in JHSC/JOSH/CER Safety Inspections
  • Participate in Emergency Response Plan creation and exercises
  • Provide technical leadership to field operations while assisting the team in identifying opportunities for improving operations within budgeted operating costs
  • Developing and implementing rate tests of requested assets
Qualifications
