Job summary

Project X Ltd. in Toronto is seeking a Consultant, Data Science to transform messy, unstructured data into actionable insights for clients.

You will apply your computer science, statistics, and math skills to analyze, process, and model data, and interpret results to deliver data-driven solutions. The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on Data Science experience, strong Python and SQL, and experience with ML frameworks.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on Data Scientist experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; data wrangling, statistics, and model development.
• Experience with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
• Familiar with LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI APIs (e.g. OpenAI).
• Cloud data pipelines; Snowflake experience is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, project plans, and solutions design.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage data for business solutions.
• Feature engineering, model selection, and ML pipeline optimization.
• Improve data collection and pipelines; perform profiling to ensure data quality.
• Productionalize data/models with feedback loops for ongoing refinement.
• Develop project plans to establish workload expectations and schedules.
• Stay up-to-date with market trends and practices.

Role Summary

As a Consultant, Data Science at Project X Ltd., you will be providing our clients with your knowledge and experience of making sense of messy, unstructured data. Using your computer science,statisticsand mathematicsexpertise, you will analyze, process and model data, then interpret the results to create actionable data driven solutions for our clients.

• Work with internal and external stakeholders toidentifyopportunities forleveragingcompany data to drive business solutions.
• Feature engineering,selectionand optimization models with ML techniques.
• Improve data collection procedures and pipelines. Perform data profiling and exploration to ensure the integrity ofdata.
• Productionalizedata models with feedback loop to automate the refinement process for deployed models over time.
• Participate in the development of project plans toestablishappropriate workloadexpectations and schedules.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledgeof, andadopt relevant market trends and practices.

WhatWe’reLooking For – Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist
• Proficiencyin Python and SQL, with experience in data wrangling, statistical analysis, and model development
• Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, orPyTorch
• Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI application development using APIs (e.g.OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)
• Experience building and deploying data pipelines and ML workflows in cloud environments; Snowflake experience is a strong asset
• Exposure to Snowflake Cortex AI features (e.g.Cortex LLM functions, Cortex Search, or Cortex Analyst) is considered a plus
• Strong understanding of vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns
• Ability to translate complex model outputs into clear business insights for non-technical stakeholders
• Comfort working in agentic and multi-agent system design is considered an advantage

Nice to Have

• Experience with testing automation is an asset.
