Job summary

Modern Niagara seeks a Construction Technology Platform Manager - Quality & Safety to maximize the value of our technology ecosystem supporting health and safety, QA, QC, and commissioning. You will own the domain roadmap, governance, backlog, and adoption strategy, aligning stakeholders across Safety, Quality, Commissioning, Operations, IT, Analytics, and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management, Business, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • 7–12+ years in construction ops, technology, safety, quality, commissioning, or platform ownership.
  • Experience with enterprise workflow platforms and roadmaps, governance, and backlogs.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety, QA/QC, commissioning, and project lifecycle processes.
  • Stakeholder leadership, facilitation, decision-making, and change leadership, with influence without authority.
  • Working knowledge of ERP, reporting, middleware, APIs, cloud databases, analytics environments, data flows.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain technology roadmaps for health & safety, quality, commissioning, and related domains.
  • Evaluate enhancements, new capabilities, releases, pilots, integrations, and business cases for investments.
  • Establish and maintain domain governance, intake processes, prioritization, escalation, and approvals.
  • Prioritize domain backlog across enhancements, reporting needs, integrations, adoption, and support.
  • Gather and communicate requirements from Safety, Quality, Commissioning, Operations, IT, Analytics, and executives.
  • Define outcomes and KPIs for adoption, compliance, data quality, and value realization.
  • Manage platform configuration, templates, training, onboarding, and ongoing support.
  • Partner with IT, Analytics, Integration Specialists, and Data Engineers on ERP, Power BI, and connected systems.
  • Lead adoption strategy, identify barriers, and drive improved compliance and decision-making.

Construction Technology Platform Manager - Quality & Safety

The Construction Technology Platform Manager - Quality & Safety is accountable for maximizing the business value, operational consistency, and long-term strategic impact of Modern Niagara's technology ecosystem supporting health and safety, quality assurance, quality control, and commissioning. This role owns the domain roadmap, governance model, prioritization framework, product backlog, and value-realization strategy, while also ensuring the day-to-day health and effective operation of the supporting platforms.

Key Impact / Purpose
  • Set and maintain the domain vision, technology roadmap, governance model, and priorities for health and safety, quality assurance, quality control, and commissioning.
  • Translate functional and project needs into scalable platform capabilities, workflows, integrations, standards, and adoption priorities.
  • Measure domain performance and value through adoption, process compliance, data quality, workflow efficiency, visibility, and operational outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the technology roadmaps for health and safety, quality assurance, quality control, and commissioning, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term domain maturity.
  • Evaluate enhancements, new capabilities, releases, pilots, integrations, and process-redesign opportunities, and develop business cases for major investments.
  • Establish and maintain domain governance, including decision rights, intake processes, prioritization rules, escalation paths, and approval forums.
  • Own and prioritize the domain backlog across enhancements, workflow changes, reporting needs, integrations, adoption improvements, and support requirements.
  • Gather requirements from Safety, Quality, Commissioning, Operations, project teams, IT, Data, Analytics, Manufacturing, and executive stakeholders, then communicate priorities, trade-offs, and sequencing decisions.
  • Define outcomes and KPIs related to adoption, process compliance, data completeness, workflow cycle times, visibility, reporting, and value realization.
  • Manage platform configuration, workflow standards, permissions, templates, documentation, training, onboarding, functional support, and recurring issue resolution across the domain.
  • Partner with IT, Analytics, Integration Specialists, and Data Engineers to define requirements for ERP, Power BI, project platforms, fabrication, service, and other connected systems.
  • Assess vendor roadmaps, releases, and technology changes for operational, technical, training, governance, integration, and data impacts, then lead testing and rollout readiness.
  • Lead the domain adoption strategy, define expectations for good usage, identify barriers, and ensure adoption improves compliance, process consistency, risk visibility, and decision-making.
Must Haves
  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management, Business, Information Systems, Technology Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of construction operations and platform experience.
  • 7 to 12+ years of experience in construction operations, construction technology, health and safety, quality, commissioning, business systems, digital transformation, or platform ownership.
  • Strong experience with construction management, safety, quality, commissioning, or comparable enterprise workflow platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience defining roadmaps, managing backlogs, leading governance, or owning business requirements for enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety processes, quality assurance, quality control, commissioning, field operations, project documentation, compliance controls, and project lifecycle processes.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership, facilitation, decision-making, communication, and change-leadership skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Working knowledge of ERP, reporting, middleware, APIs, cloud databases, analytics environments, data flows, and integration dependencies.
  • Ability to work primarily in an office environment with frequent weekly site engagement and regular movement through active construction environments.

  • Experience supporting multiple projects, regions, departments, or business units.
  • Experience digitizing safety, quality, inspection, deficiency, commissioning, compliance, or closeout workflows.
  • Experience with Power BI reporting, integrations, enterprise analytics, data governance, or safety and quality data models.
  • Experience developing business cases, value-realization measures, prioritization frameworks, and executive performance reporting.
  • Experience leading enterprise adoption, release evaluation, platform pilots, training programs, or cross-functional operating-model design.
This is a new position. Expected annual compensation; $120,000 - $140,000
