We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent for a major project at Naval Submarine Base (NSB) Kings Bay, Georgia. This position requires a proven track record of successfully managing complex federal or military projects, preferably within restricted areas on submarine bases or other high-security installations. The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring safety, schedule, and quality performance at the highest levels.
Location: Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia
A current or active Secret Security Clearance is highly desired.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the on-site leader, managing daily field operations and subcontractor performance.
  • Ensure strict compliance with NAVFAC SE requirements, EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and all applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate construction schedules, subcontractor sequencing, and logistics for work in restricted access areas.
  • Conduct daily inspections for safety, quality, and progress; resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain all project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and as-built records.
  • Work closely with QCM, SSHO, and Project Manager to ensure seamless execution and communication with NAVFAC.
  • Lead site safety briefings, toolbox talks, and quality meetings with field staff and subcontractors.
  • Enforce compliance with SWFLANT badging and access requirements for all personnel under your supervision.

Required Criteria for consideration:

  • All uncleared personnel entering restricted areas are subject to additional NCIC checks. The following are disqualifying criteria:
  • Any federal or state felony conviction, including general court-martial convictions, regardless of date.
  • Any federal or state misdemeanor conviction for a violent offense (weapons/firearms, assault, battery, sexual assault/abuse, domestic violence, robbery, burglary, arson, theft, etc.), regardless of date.
  • Any pending adjudication for federal, state, or local misdemeanor or felony arrests/charges.
  • Two or more separate non-violent misdemeanor convictions within the last 24 months.
  • Any discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces that is not honorable or general under honorable conditions.
  • Candidates must be able to meet these requirements for access to restricted areas at NSB Kings Bay.

QUALIFICATION:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience supervising federal or military construction projects; NSB Kings Bay or submarine base experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex field operations in restricted or high-security environments.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification (required); EM 385-1-1 training (preferred).
  • Active or previously held Secret clearance (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on a secure military installation.
