Job summary

CrossSafety is seeking a Construction Safety Consultant to support clients in health and safety across North America, emphasizing construction and operations safety. You’ll promote compliance with client OH&S requirements and guide risk management processes on active projects.

The role requires field experience, Ontario safety knowledge, and strong communication skills. This is a salaried, full-time position with potential for permanent status, located in St.Thomas, Ontario, with comprehensive

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related safety certification.
  • Field experience in construction or high hazard settings.
  • Knowledge of Ontario workplace health and safety laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on health, safety, and environmental issues for construction projects.
  • Advise on risk management and incident investigations.

About the Role

As aConstruction SafetyConsultant, you will serve as a trusted advisorto our clientsand providesupportingall aspects of health and safetyforconstruction projects and complex operational facilities.You’llpromotecompliance with client OHS requirements;anticipateand guideriskmanagement processes to protectworkers, the public, and operations; work closely with client teams and contractors to supportprojects;andadviseon risk trends and improvement plans.

  • Starting Compensation: $75,000 to $95,000 (Associate) per annum

WhatYou’llBe Doing
  • Providing guidanceand expert adviceon health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Acting as a key advisor to project teams,anticipatingandidentifyinghazards andappropriate protectivemeasures.
  • Providing health and safety input to design, planning,constructabilityand/or operabilityreviews.
  • Managing and reducing risks to workers and the public within a liveand complexoperating client site.
  • Undertakinghealth and safetyassurance audits
  • Performing and documenting regular site safety inspections,andfacilitatingtimelycorrective actions
  • Assistingwith incident and accident investigations.
  • Liaising withclientstaff and regulatory agencies,
  • Preparingdetailed professionalreportsand records.
What YouNeed for Success
  • Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or certification in a construction trade withsignificant health andsafetyexperience.
  • Fieldexperiencein construction or a high hazard operational environment (Minimum: Associate – 1 year)
  • CRSP, CSP, CHST, CIH or ROHdesignation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontarioworkplace health and safety laws.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office and digitalhealth and safetyreporting tools (computers, tablets).
  • Hands-on experience with field-level audits and inspections.
  • Stronginterpersonal,verbaland writtenycommunication skills.
  • Initiative, ability to multitask, and strong expectation management skills.
  • Strong work ethic and career-oriented mindset.
  • Completion ofpractical training in key safe work practices(Working at Heights, WHMIS, Ontario 4/5 Steps, LOTO, Confined Spaces, etc.)
  • Valid ClassGdriver’s license.
