Job summary

CrossSafety is seeking a Construction Safety Consultant to advise clients on health and safety for construction projects and complex facilities. You will promote compliance with OHS requirements and support risk management to protect workers, the public, and operations.

You will report to project teams, conduct site inspections and audits, assist with incident investigations, and prepare detailed professional reports while liaising with regulators.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in construction or high-hazard operations environment.
  • CRSP, CSP, CHST, CIH or ROH designation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario workplace health and safety laws.
  • Proficiency with digital health and safety reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on health, safety and environmental issues for projects.
  • Act as a key advisor to project teams on hazards and protective measures.
  • Contribute to design, planning and operability reviews with safety input.
  • Manage and reduce risks at live client sites.
  • Conduct safety audits and document findings with timely corrective actions.
  • Assist with incident investigations and regulatory liaison.

About the Role

As aConstruction SafetyConsultant, you will serve as a trusted advisorto our clientsand providesupportingall aspects of health and safetyforconstruction projects and complex operational facilities.You’llpromotecompliance with client OHS requirements;anticipateand guideriskmanagement processes to protectworkers, the public, and operations; work closely with client teams and contractors to supportprojects;andadviseon risk trends and improvement plans.

  • Position Type: Salary, Full-time
  • Starting Compensation: $75,000 to $95,000 (Associate) per annum

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing guidanceand expert adviceon health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Acting as a key advisor to project teams,anticipatingandidentifyinghazards andappropriate protectivemeasures.
  • Providing health and safety input to design, planning,constructabilityand/or operabilityreviews.
  • Managing and reducing risks to workers and the public within a liveand complexoperating client site.
  • Undertakinghealth and safetyassurance audits
  • Performing and documenting regular site safety inspections,andfacilitatingtimelycorrective actions
  • Assistingwith incident and accident investigations.
  • Liaising withclientstaff and regulatory agencies,
  • Preparingdetailed professionalreportsand records.
What You Need for Success
  • Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or certification in a construction trade withsignificant health andsafetyexperience.
  • Fieldexperiencein construction or a high hazard operational environment (Minimum: Associate – 1 year)
  • CRSP, CSP, CHST, CIH or ROHdesignation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontarioworkplace health and safety laws.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office and digitalhealth and safetyreporting tools (computers, tablets).
  • Hands-on experience with field-level audits and inspections.
  • Stronginterpersonal,verbaland writtenycommunication skills.
  • Initiative, ability to multitask, and strong expectation management skills.
  • Strong work ethic and career-oriented mindset.
  • Completion ofpractical training in key safe work practices(Working at Heights, WHMIS, Ontario 4/5 Steps, LOTO, Confined Spaces, etc.)
  • Valid ClassGdriver’s license.
