Overview

Are you a senior quality and planning professional in civil construction, looking to take on a strategic field-facing role? Hall Constructors is seeking a Construction Planning & Quality Advisor supporting Vancouver Island operations.

This full-time position is ideal for a seasoned civil construction leader who thrives in the field, is passionate about coaching site teams, and is driven to embed quality at every level of execution.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Serve as a field-based quality and planning advisor across multiple civil infrastructure projects on Vancouver Island, supporting site teams in applying Hall’s QMS and “The Hallway” systems.
  • Author, monitor, and guide the implementation of project-specific Execution Plans, ITPs, Quality Control Checklists (QCCLs), Quality Management Plans (QMPs), and final turnover packages.
  • Attend quality management meetings and construction planning meetings to support risk identification, field-readiness reviews, and quality planning alignment with contract deliverables.
  • Liaise directly with clients, consultants, and inspectors on behalf of Hall to represent quality and planning interests in the field.
  • Conduct targeted quality inspections and coaching sessions, documenting findings in SiteDocs and reinforcing compliance through direct field engagement.
  • Ensure daily field documentation (toolbox talks, permits, JHAs) aligns with planned work activities and quality expectations.
  • Deliver training and mentorship to Coordinators, Foremen, and Supervisors on Hall's standardized planning and quality procedures.
  • Act as the designated Site Quality Manager on multiple select projects, with responsibility for daily quality monitoring, inspection coordination, and QMS compliance oversight.
What You Bring to the Role

Required:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil construction engineering, quality management, or related field roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality inspection, documentation control, test coordination, and procedural compliance.
  • Strong understanding of MMCD, MoTI standards, and contract specifications interpretation.
  • Deep working knowledge of civil infrastructure scopes including utilities, roadworks, concrete, and earthworks.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Vancouver Island.

Assets:

  • Post-secondary education in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, construction management, or equivalent field.
  • Experience using SiteDocs or equivalent safety / quality management platforms.
  • MoTI project delivery experience (or municipal infrastructure projects with equivalent standards).
  • Practical understanding of construction safety and materials testing methodologies.
