Construction Manager
The Opportunity

We are seeking a Construction Manager to join a growing construction team delivering commercial, industrial, and residential projects across the Muskoka region and surrounding areas. Reporting to senior leadership, this individual will oversee day‑to‑day site activities and ensure that all construction operations are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a boots‑on‑the‑ground leadership role with a focus on active site management, problem‑solving, and collaboration with clients, consultants, trades, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all construction activities related to commercial, industrial, and residential construction projects
  • Directly manage field teams, including subcontractors and trades, ensuring accountability, safety, and productivity
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to guide and support the field team
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality control metrics across active job sites
  • Ensure all site work is completed in compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and project requirements
  • Act as the primary on‑site representative for clients, consultants, and inspectors
  • Troubleshoot issues on‑site and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track
  • Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Qualifications & Experience
  • 7+ years of construction experience, preferably in mid‑rise commercial or retail construction
  • Background in General Contracting is required, projects between $1‑$10 million start to finish
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing commercial, industrial, or residential projects from start to finish
  • Proven ability to lead field teams directly and coordinate multiple trades on‑site
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, Ontario Building Code, and safety standards
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
  • Comfortable with travel to job sites throughout the Muskoka region (within a 2‑hour radius)
