Job summary

SPK Home Construction is seeking a reliable Construction Labourer to join our Yukon team. You will work on residential sites, assisting carpenters, loading materials and keeping sites clean and safe.

The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with wage around $28.50 per hour and increases based on skill and experience. You will participate in our COR safety program and wear required PPE.

Qualifications

• Construction or general labour experience is an asset.
• Able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying materials.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

SPK Home Construction is looking for a reliable and hardworking Construction Labourer to join our team. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working in a physically demanding construction environment and is committed to maintaining a safe and productive job site.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters and other tradespeople on residential construction projects
• Load, unload and move construction materials
• Prepare and clean construction sites
• Assist with framing, building and general construction activities as directed
• Use basic hand and power tools safely and properly
• Remove debris and maintain clean, organized and safe work areas
• Assist with measuring, carrying, positioning and assembling building materials
• Follow SPK Home Construction's COR (Certificate of Recognition) safety program, policies and safe work procedures
• Participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings and job-site orientations
• Follow safe work practices and procedures for the tasks being performed
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Identify and report workplace hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents and near misses to the supervisor
• Follow supervisor instructions and all applicable workplace health and safety requirements
• Maintain a strong safety-first attitude while working independently and as part of a crew
• Perform other general labour duties as required

Qualifications

• Work Experience: Construction or general labour experience is an asset
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying construction materials
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Willingness and ability to comply with the company's COR safety program and job-site safety requirements
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and job-site safety is an asset
• Safety training or certifications related to construction are considered an asset
• Valid driver's licence is an asset

Compensation

$28.50 per hour, full-time, approximately 40 hours per week.
Wage Increases: Wage increases may be provided based on demonstrated skill and experience.
